Veteran’s Advocacy Associates

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Ray Najera, the Community Liaison in Orange County for Veteran’s Advocacy Associates (VAA) to learn more about a very important Veteran’s Veteran’s-Advocacy-AssociatesBenefit program.

Veteran’s Advocacy Associates assists veterans in their efforts to obtain financial assistance that is administered under the VA’s Aid & Attendance program. The Aid and Attendance Pension provides benefits for veterans and surviving spouses who require help of another person to assist with various activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as eating, bathing, dressing and undressing or taking care of other personal needs. It also includes individuals who are blind or a patient in a nursing home because of mental or physical incapacity. Assisted care can be provided in one’s own home, in an assisted living facility or Board & Care. There simply needs to be adequate medical evidence that you cannot function completely on your own.  Eligibility is also determined based on when the Veteran served and the financial situation related to the cost of care.

As is the case with many government programs, accessing this benefit can be complicated, time consuming and often frustrating.  And without some essential knowledge, applicants often submit incomplete or incorrect information which can delay or deny the benefit. This is where VAA can help.  VAA specializes in educating people on the Aide & Attendance Benefit program and providing professional consultation to personally assess one’s particular situation to determine eligibility for benefits. They receive a fee for these consultative services, which in the end can result in thousands of dollars a year of financial assistance.  According to Ray, every case is different and they work diligently to resolve all issues so that there is a very high likelihood of success.

In nine years of business, Veteran’s Advocacy Associates has had over 1,500 cases approved providing over 30 million dollars a year of benefits to those Veterans or Surviving Spouses.  If you are or know someone who is a Veteran or the Surviving Spouse of a Veteran, and are in need of financial assistance for home care services, call Ray Najera at 949-306-1872 for more information or a consultation. He is very knowledgeable and will be a valuable resource and strong advocate for anyone looking into this great program.
